plan ahead

Schedule your tan no more than 2 days prior to your event or ideally one day before vacation. Plan to need to use a tan extender to keep the tan bright if you schedule more than 2 days out.

Manicures and pedicures and facials need to be done BEFORE you tan. You cannot soak your feet after you get a spray tan unless you want it to come off.

All waxing needs to be done before you tan. Wax will remove the tan when it removes the skin.

Work out before your tanning appointment. Sweating and tight clothes can remove the tan.

Tanning while pregnant or nursing is common, but check with your doctor before making an appointment.

We do not have a set age requirement for spray tanning- minors must have guardian permission/ assistance filling out waiver for first appointment. We are happy to tan anyone, and parents are welcome in the room (with kid’s permission).

PREPARE YOUR SKIN

Did you wax and get your nails done? Do that.

For a few days prior to your appointment, try to exfoliate in the shower. We have exfoliating mitts we will give you if you stop by, or use a loofah. Scrub well and then moisturize after.

Shave before your appointment if possible. If you shave right before, close your pores with a cold water rinse.

Forego retinols and anti acne products for a few days if possible to prevent dry skin that will absorb tanning solution more noticeably.

Sunburned and peeling? Buy aloe, CBD salve, calendula cream, and body makeup. We cannot tan over peeling or recently peeled skin. If we do, it will look uneven.

AFTER your session

an even fade away

If your appointment is early in the day, skip lotion. If it’s more than four hours from when you put on lotion, moisturize well. It will help the tan develop evenly if your skin is hydrated, but lotion that’s not absorbed will block the tan from developing.

Skip deodorant the day of.

Wear or bring dark, loose, comfortable clothes. Wear pants if at all possible, not shorts. If your feet are sweaty the tan will not develop, so bring shoes that aren’t too tight and don’t wear knee socks.

Not comfortable going topless? No problem. Wear a strapless bra or bandeau. We also have disposable pads that will cover you but allow you to not have tan lines on your back and sides.

Not comfortable not wearing bottoms? No problem. We have disposable g string thongs available to wear, but if you want to wear your own bottoms just make sure they aren’t lace or have cut outs. If you’ll be wearing a bathing suit, make sure the tan lines work for your suit.

Start to finish, most spray tanning sessions take just 15 minutes. This means you can get dressed as soon as we finish. No drying in front of a fan needed.

We custom mix your tanning solution as you undress and put on a hair net to keep hair off your neck, and put on any disposables you need and wipe your makeup and deodorant off.

First we use prep spray if you have dry spots to hydrate and balance pH levels on the skin. We heat it so it’s a warm, precise spray you rub in like lotion.

We paint block cream on palms to protect them.

We fill in tan lines if needed. Then spray your whole body.

After we finish, we remove the cream with baby wipes, making sure to wipe your manicured nails and wipe your toe nails too. We blend any bronzer that has moved around with a soft brush, check tan lines, and finish with a drying powder to help feel less sticky. You can then get dressed.

No bra is best. Strapless is best if you have to wear a bra after your appointment. No sports bras allowed.

Wipe your hands again after getting dressed and your done.

At check out, we give you an after care card with all your rules for the next 8 hours on it, with specific times written out so there’s no guesswork.

We save the details of your application: the mix, any areas that needed extra blending or attention, etc. in your profile notes.

We have ponchos at the front desk to take or put on bc of course it will be raining and you cannot get wet, you have done so much to get to this point ffs.

Follow your card: 2+ hours to rinse without soap, soap shower after 8 hours. Netflix(something that won’t make you cry) and do no chores like cleaning or washing dishes (and stay in air conditioning if it’s a sweaty or muggy day.)

A note: If after your first rinse you see streaks, that it bronzer you missed and you’re usually looking at water lines. Just use your hand when you rinse to avoid this and don’t pee down your leg..

Avoid exfoliating and stay moisturized and hydrated. After a few days, start to add in tan extender with your daily lotion to keep the tan bright.

The top layer of skin is what is tanned. Anything that removes/exfoliates that layer of skin in turn takes off the tan. Natural exfoliation happens every 7-10 days.
